Eberron's Age of Discovery Campaign

I had an idea today that would take place during the Kingdom of Galifar's greatest height.  The idea is simple: the player characters take place in a historic voyage around Eberron to "prove" that Eberron itself is a globe.  You will enjoy a campaign to sail all around the world of Eberron.

 The Time Period

The campaign takes place around 598 YK.  During the Kingdom of Galifar's greatest height.  It's also a time when the House of Lyrandar's business is cheap.  The players all take place in an epic campaign.  The campaign begins at Sharn and ends at Adderport in what is currently known as Q'barra.

 Sailing around the World

The players are playing characters that is part of a crew on a ship that is part of a fleet.  Is the fleet captain looking for gold though?  Is he looking for something else?  Is he noble?  Is he not?  Will your PCs find out?  Or are they just looking for discovery?  Or are your PCs noble?  Nevertheless, your company of discoverers will be on a fleet of Lyrandar ships.   As House Lyrandar is making a monopoly on sea travel during this time.  The trajectory takes you west.

Player Character Creation

Standard Point Buy: All ability scores start at 8. Take 25 points to spread out among all abilities. For ability scores of 14 or lower, you buy additional points on a 1-for-1 basis. For ability scores higher than 14, it costs a little more (see the table in the DMG 3.5, page 169).  This method allows for maximum customization, but you should expect each PC to have at least one really good score.

You may choose any race, normal or Eberron specific except Warforged, as they haven't been invented or produced yet.  Oh, you may not play a dragonborn until you reach Argonessen and take on any new crew and supplies.

Any core class, and psions, are allowed. An artificer might not like being aboard ship, but who knows what might happen.

 Campaign Length

This campaign has a set goal.  You leave Sharn in the Nation of Breland, and land at Addyport in the nation of Cyre.  The fun is had with the adventures in between.

Inspiration

Watch any movie about Christopher Columbus.  Also watch Uncharted by Sony.  Watch any movie about Sir Francis Drake.  You can also watch any Sinbad movie for inspiration for your characters.
